Suncloud Polarized Reader Sunglasses

Polarized Sunglasses with 2.0 reading lenses? YEP!!

As an avid fly fisherman and over 40 those tiny eyelets in the fly can get down right frustrating when tying on a leader in the middle of the day. Having to switch from Polarized sunglasses to reading glasses.

Well if you are over 40 or about to turn 40 believe me you’ll need reading glasses. Don’t think so? Go Walmart or somewhere and try out a pair. You may be surprised at the difference.

In this review of the Suncloud Cover Polarized Reader Sunglasses, I will give you my honest opinion and review. Basing the review on the following criteria’s

Practicality

Cost

Quality

Practicality

Fairly practical if you are tired of carrying a pair of readers while on the water. Honestly, they do take a bit of getting used to if you’re not used to wearing Bifolcals. It took me about 2 hours to adjust then my eyes got used to shifting up and down. You can also use these while driving or in outdoor areas where you may need to read things (menu, email, using phone). I use these sunglasses as my daily pair. Remember these are sunglasses, if you are in a dark area bring out the readers. The sunglasses have a modern style to them. People would hardly notice you are wearing “cheaters”. As of now the sunglasses only have 2.0 magnification for the readers. Kind of a downer if you require more strength in your reading glasses.

Cost

Suncloud Polarized Reader Sunglasses are around $64 dollars. If you consider a pair of quality Sunglasses are $40 and up, plus a pair of Readers $5 and up; then yes these are more expensive. However since these Sunglasses have both features, it is more convenient to just have one pair.

Quality

The frame of Suncloud Polarized Reader Sunglasses are light, but built for abuse. My previous Sunclouds have held up for 4 years before pitting started to occur near the bridge. Lens are high quality. Scratch resistance- after 5 years of fishing (Saltwater and Freshwater) nearly 4 days a week there are no visible scratches on my previous pair. Arms- Fairly flexible but sturdy. They seem to be comfortable even after being worn for 12 hours (my typical time on the water). The arms do not pinch as much as readers so they could feel loose.

Summary

As a pair of Polarized Reader Sunglasses for outdoor activities I would recommend. The quality is worth $65 or more dollars. Only suggestion to Suncloud would be to make more magnification levels (1,1.5,2.5 etc.)
